McMurphy and Nurse Ratched!

Dear Diary,

I guess we both are the same in some ways. We both want to be the "head honcho" and control things. We are both manipulators in some way and want to run things how we think they should be run. But, just because I came here from that farm and am acting like I really do need to be in this hospital does not mean I need everyone to control me. That's not how things work with me. Sure the nurse might be a little uptight about me trying to shake things up and change things a bit, but she's just going to have to figure a way out to deal with it. I know here at this hospital that some things are not cut out to be like they appear to be; like what goes on with those operations and how the meetings go. I really don't like this Nurse Ratched because of how she runs things around here, and I disagree with Harding about Nurse Ratched because I know what's really going on. She's playing a game, and I'm sure good at games, especially when it comes to gambling. Harding is completely blinded from everything. The nurse has everyone so tied down with all her lies that she tells that they are so afraid of saying the wrong thing or making one wrong move. I want people to know what she really is, a monster, and that it's not right.

Dear Diary....

Dear Diary,

That prostitute, Sunny, probably thinks I'm weird for not wanting to do anything. I just couldn't, though. I think I respect women more than I thought. And I respect myself, too. Like I said, there's been plenty of times that I could have and all, but I guess I just can't get old Jane Gallapher out of my mind. I think she's where my respect comes in from, along with the relationship we have. It's not like a relationship you'd have with just any girl. Oh no, nothing like that at all. It's different, our relationship is. She's the sort of girl that keeps a guy under control I think. We did lots of things together like play gold, tennis, and checkers that not very many guys would ever do with a girl like her because most of them only have one thing on their mind: sex.

All them other people are just a bunch of phonies. Except I did go to the movies with her, even though I don't like them at all. I believe the people in the movies are all phonies as well. Mostly because they aren't being who they really are and only care about money and all that stuff. I have my own way of viewing things. I like to think I have control in the way things are supposed to go. That's also why I think everyone is a phony. I don't know. The world would probably be a better place if not every other person was a phony.
